Berlin, October 9, 2024 – The Virchow Foundation is pleased to share Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director-General of the WHO, as one of the distinguished speakers of the Virchow Prize 2024 Award Ceremony. The international celebration is held this Saturday, October 12, at 17:00 hrs at the historic Rotes Rathaus (Berlin City Hall).
For decades, Dr Tedros has been at the forefront of international efforts to promote health equity and achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). His welcome note will set the stage, once more, for an inspirational night that celebrates academic excellence and groundbreaking achievements in human and planetary health.
Other distinguished speakers include Professor Haug, President of the Virchow Foundation, Ms Bas, President of the German Bundestag, Professor Lauterbach, German Minister of Health, Mr Wegner, Governing Mayor of Berlin, and others.
